The music icon that made the song I Will Always Love You was confirmed dead at the age of 48. Whitney Houston’s representative Kristen Foster confirmed her passing on the night of February 11, Saturday. There’s no confirmation yet about the cause of her death and where it happen but rumor says that she died in Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Houston on the peak of her career during the 80s and 90s receives 415 awards as of 2010 including 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards. She is considered as one of the best selling artist in the industry where her albums were sold over 170 million copies worldwide. Among the songs that she made popular were “Saving All My Love for You,” “How Will I Know,” “Greatest Love of All” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go.” She also stars as the lead actress in the film Bodyguard with Kevin Costner. Film projects like Waiting to Exhale and the Preacher’s Wife follow. The last project she did before her passing is Sparkle where he plays the lead role and will debut on theaters soon.
Despite of her success in the industry, Houston battles with drug addiction and alcohol dependence. She undergo treatments and rehabilitation for few years. Aside from that she also had marital issues with he ex husband Bobby Brown were she ended her 14 year relationship with him in 2006.
