From Dear John and G.I. Joe, American actor Channing Tatum returns to the big screen as Leo in the romance drama film entitled The Vow. Directed by Michael Sucsy, The Vow also stars Rachel McAdams, Sam Neill, Scott Speedman and Jessica Lange. The film is currently showing in all cinemas nationwide and it distributed by Columbia Pictures.
The Vow is a great story of Leo to his wife Paige (Adams) who had a car accident and places her in a coma for a while. Because of the trauma, Paige has a severe memory loss and among them are her feelings for her husband. But Leo never gives up and works anything to bring back his wife, their relationship and her feelings for him even it was hopeless for others.
Tatum was amazed with the character of Leo. According to him that the story is very authentic as it shows great love. “Getting on with your life together and making sure you stay in touch and connected because life can get in the way sometimes, that’s the tough part. I think that a huge part of Leo and Paige’s journey is based on the fact that not only do they make each other intensely happy and support each other, but that they pushed each other to grow and when you do that it really does take you to the next level in a relationship and in life.” He explained.
He admits that he found the role emotionally difficult especially it is a hopeless case for the husband who wanted to bring all back to his wife but nothing happens. I hope I would be as brave as Leo is; it’s heartbreaking for him, but he has the faith to let Paige find her own way. And this role is great because Leo is so truthful about his love, he doesn’t hold it back, and I can relate to that. I love love! It’s harder to play than running around with guns and being physical, but it’s very satisfying.” Tatum elaborates. And if this happen to him with his wife Jenna Dewan, he says that he says that he wouldn’t be ‘Okay, alright, well, see you later, good luck’ like a person but he will hold on and do anything until the memory returns.
Aside from The Vow that is now showing nationwide, Tatum is working on a new project entitled 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill which will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
