Samsung Electronics once again partners with Google as they release the first smartphone powered with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich – Galaxy Nexus. This will be available in the Philippines this January 2012 and as of now it is on display at the Jump Center in Cyberzone are in SM Megamall. This latest device of Samsung has a dimension of 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9 mm and weighs 135 grams. It has a 4.65 inches (720 x 1280 pixels) Super HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors.
With a multi-touch feature with an anti-fingerprint Oleophobic coating to make the screen clearer and images sharper. The Samsung Nexus has a 16GB/32GB internal memory (depending on the unit) and doesn’t have external card slot for extra memory. It has the speed of 1.2 GHz dual core and can connect to WIFI and 4G or HSPA+ Connectivity.
For those who love taking pictures and videos, it comes with a 5 mega pixel, 2592×1936 pixels, and auto-focus rear camera with LED flash while in front (camera) 1.3 mega pixel, both has zero shutter lag feature. For video recording it has 1080p HD feature.
You can make things easy with Samsung Nexus where you can sync your calendar with your Google Calendar or Microsoft Exchange. And with just a pinch you can adjust the time and date and sync it online. For those who wanted to receive emails anytime anywhere you can sync and check your Gmail accounts with Samsung Nexus and with voice command application it can write sms, email and any other text—more than 20 languages by just touching the microphone on the keyboard and start talking.
Being it is a Google product too, Samsung Nexus offers you all the applications of Google like the Gtalk, Google+, Google Hangout, Google Music, Youtube, Google Maps and Picasa integration where you can edit your photos and upload it online.
Samsung Nexus also offers Android Beam features where you can share contacts, web pages, YouTube videos, directions, and apps—just by touching two NFC-enabled Android phones back to back. Tap to beam what’s on your phone to your friend. Also aside from the usual password security, this device has Face Unlock security system where you can unlock your phone—with a smile. This state-of-the-art facial recognition technology lets you switch on your phone and look at it to get past the lock screen—no passwords to remember, nothing to type or swipe.
The Samsung Nexus will be available in the Philippines this January and the estimated price of this device is around Php 30, 000 – 35, 000.
