Everyone has his or her own secret to keep and doesn’t want to bring it out in the open or it will destroy their reputation. This is what the biographical drama film J.Edgar all about, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and directed by Clint Eastwood, it is based from the life of J. Edgar Hoover, a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director who established the bureau and remained in the position until his death. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, and Judi Dench, and it is now showing in all cinemas nationwide.
The film follows the effort of J.Edgar (DiCaprio) in creating the Federal Bureau of Investigation of theUnited States of Americaand providing some techniques in solving crimes. He cleaned the members of the bureau according to his standards and having Clyde Tolson (Hammer) and Helen Gandy (Watts) as his great allies until his death.
This version of J.Edgar portrayal touches the sensitive part of his life, the possible confirmation about him being a homosexual and it depends to the comprehension of the viewers. Aside from that, the film will also tackle the sensitive part on revealing how was Hoover as the FBI Director and how he get his way up as a glorified and feared man in his generation.
DiCaprio did a great job in portraying the role ofHooveras a cunning FBI Director that holds so many secrets about the government and also personal that will break him. You can actually see in his character on the things that he keep and holds him back for so long. A person who hides real identity a machismo image while Hammer compliments with DiCaprio with his role as the alleged lover of Hoover showing an expressive person filling in with Hoover’s character.
The production perfectly created a wonderful presentation on the lives ofHoover. From the texture and the look of the early years with his transformation along with the designs, they created a clear transition of the present times with the story he narrates with the biographers. There are fast phase in the story I suggest better not to get out of your seat until the movie ends to avoid confusion.
J.Edgar also stars John Lucas, Damon Herriman, Ed Westwick, and Jeffrey Donovan. Now showing in all cinemas nationwide, the film was produced Imagine Entertainment, Malpaso Productions and Wintergreen Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

This is a wise, mournful profound masterpiece from Clint Eastwood. Easily his most ambitious project, it is a sweeping historical epic balanced by an achingly intimate portrait of two men.A great movie that demands multiple viewing to appreciate the layers of meaning, incident and complexity.A mature, intelligent film for a mature intelligent audience.
Have a nice day,
