It has been three years since I was introduced to World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) when I met the Philippine office President and CEO – Mr. Lory Tan. His charismatic approach and clear explanation during the series of interview while I was doing a feature blog on Climate Change for Blog Action Day moved me and made me decide that I will be advocating for WWF.
WWF gives me the opportunity to see what a single-ordinary person can do in protecting their environment. From giving 5 minute to a WWF Fund Raiser you meet in the mall and pledge for only P600 a month, or roughly P20 a day the impact that you will bring to the areas that WWF handles will be big. The funds will be used in environmental education to different schools, and also to WWF’s conservation and protection on marine life and forest.
There are so many things you can do to a champion for Mother Earth, you can volunteer, participate in WWF’s activity like the annual Earth Hour, bid for their Greener at 50 online auction on eBay, symbolically adopt a panda and buy WWF merchandise that will support their projects. We only have one earth to live and that earth should be protected. Each one has a responsibility on taking part on conserving our resources and protecting it for the future generations.
