This is my second time that I immerse myself in the community partners of World Vision and this time it is in Baseco, Tondo for their Noche Buena Gift Giving where as volunteers of JP Morgan Chase & Co joins activity. The activity happened last December 16 and around 400 kids joined, and despite of extended shift the JP Morgan volunteers still have that energy and more the fire inside them in making this Christmas memorable and fun for the kids.
I am very thankful that World Vision gives me the opportunity to have this activity to see how they work with the community partners, meet volunteers whom I get that inspiration and the fire to continue campaigning for bayanihan and advocacy online and for the kids who thought me that even in the hard times of their lives there’s still hope that we can hold too. Christmas for kids something to look forward to, having the time to have a dinner with complete family and love ones and having the chance to unwrap those gifts. But for others a Noche Buena can be few pieces of fried chicken, rice and water and for others just a bowl of warm noodles to share with their siblings. This is reality, others says that there are two faces of Christmas, Happy and Sad, but I believe that there’s a third one and that is hope that despite of not having generous feast of Noche Buena we can still celebrate Christmas with a complete family or still having the gift of life that make us have that chance to make it brighter in the future. These were the things that the kids of World Vision thought me, John, Abdul, Janet and Joan four of the Baseco kids that have those sweetest smile and sees hope in their eyes.
Christmas is the season of giving, for others P1, 000 is worth a fancy bag, shoes or mug but for World Vision it is equivalent to two Noche Buena Gifts that you give to the partner communities of World Vision. So if you want to have a meaningful Christmas how about dedicating it to the kids and help put smile on their faces. Visit World Vision Noche Buena Page and know how you can do more this Christmas.
