After my hosting stint in most of blog conference here in Manila such as the blogfest and iBlog, and also panel discussion in various forums including my last year talk at the Visayas Blogging Summit 2010 in Iloilo City, I will be flying to General Santos City courtesy of Cebu Pacific Air for the Soccsksargen Blogfest 2.0 as a speaker. I have to be honest; I still have goose bumps as I talk in front of so many people especially my fellow bloggers. I have the tendency to talk fast and stutter especially when excited on my topic but I hope they would understand what I am talking about.
I’ll be discussing about Blogging for Advocacy, a topic that is very close to my heart. That was the same topic I discussed at the VBS2010 and this time I will be tackling about online and on ground advocacy. I’ll be mentioning some examples from my partners such as World Food Programme (WFP), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and The Red Whistle on the campaigns and engaging to social media and bringing them on ground.
Aside from the event, I am very excited to meet the Mindanao based bloggers which I believe are very vocal and creative. I am eager to learn from them about their opinions, views and suggestions about society, blogging world, politics, advocacy and so many more. I am glad that Avel Manansala invited me to this event where I’ll be joining Manolo Quezon, Mae Paner, Darlene Custodio, Raffy Tima, Yugatech, Aileen Apolo-de Jesus and so many more. I will be speaking n Tagalog at the event to further explain my thoughts and I hope they don’t mind.
After GenSan trip, after a week I will be flying to Jakarta, Indonesia to represent the country for the ON l OFF Indonesia Bloggers Conference where some ASEAN bloggers like me will be representing their country talking about advocacy, impact of social media in their respecting nations and my favorite gain new friends and exchange of ideas. That will be another story that I’ll be sharing on my blog very soon and I need to look for Batik that I’ll be wearing on the welcome dinner in Jakarta.
