I grew watching the series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in early 90’s during my elementary years. I always have that notion that my toys has life and a world of their own when I am sleeping at night time or if I’m not inside the room. That is how Alan Alexander Milne or A. A. Milne visualizes when he authored the entitled Winnie-the-Pooh that is pertaining to Christopher Robin (named after his son) and his teddy bear. And now Walt Disney Animation Studios pays tribute to Milne by releasing the fifth film of Winnie the Pooh. The animated children’s family film will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4 and Greenbelt 3) starting October 19.
The film is similar to an ordinary plot of a Winnie the Pooh show. The unstoppable appetite of Pooh to honey, the ecstatic mood of Tigger, the cowardness of Piglet, and the long search of Eeyore’s tale is always the theme of a Winnie the Pooh plot. But of course the story line of the film is longer than the usual show and there are more funny and lovable scenes that everyone will enjoy as they see the whole gang in big screen. The film features the voices of Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh and Tigger), Tom Kenny (Rabbit), Craig Ferguson (Owl), Travis Oates (Piglet) Bud Luckey (Eeyore) Jack Boutler (Christopher Robin), Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Kanga) and Wyatt Dean Hall (Roo).
The film doesn’t require much energy and brain cells. The plot is simple that is easy to understand by kids and to be appreciated by the child in us. It is only available in regular format which I was expecting it on 3D to be more visually appealing especially the honey mirage scenes of Pooh. But maybe on the sixth movie franchise I’ll be expecting a 3D format so that movie goers can enjoy more the fun and adventure of all the characters in the Hundred Acre Wood.
Catch Winnie the Pooh and the rest of the gang on October 19 exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4 and Greenbelt 3) and be a child once again!
