Be cautious of what you post online and whom are you talking with. This was the concept of the 2010 movie of Millenium Films entitled Trust that will be premiering exclusively in all Ayala Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma) beginning September 7, 2011. The psychological thriller stars Oscar-nominated actors Clive Owen, Catherine Keener and Viola Davis. It was directed by David Schwimmer and based on a screenplay by Andy Bellin and Robert Festinger.
The film Trust follows the struggle of the Cameron family where their eldest daughter Annie (Liana Liberato), 14 years old and was sexually offended by a person who she met from an online community. Her father Will (Owen) was very much affected with the incident and wanted to hunt down Charlie (Chris Henry Coffey), the person that Annie met online. But aside from searching for justice, Will realizes that there are other things that lacks from their family that leads them to that incident.
The story of Trust is very common in the society, the case of cyber crimes including pornography, pedophilia and even rape among those who trusted themselves to the person they just meet online. This kind of cases is rampant on news and sadly most of the culprits remain unnamed and still free. The movie gives a peek on a possible story of what really happen and the struggles of the family that encounter this kind of crime.
Aesthetically, the film perfectly executed all the emotions especially the love, innocence, pain and realization of Annie. Liana Liberato, the actress who played Annie was remarkably great in her portrayal. Sadly, for movie goers who wanted resolution on the film and there are unexpected things that they will see in the final scenes which I know it may disappoint most of the viewers. But in the end it points on the fact that this kind of story or case remains unresolved and still looking for justice.
