The romance comedy film directed Glenn Ficarra and John Requa that stars Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei and Kevin Bacon shares a very common story of heartaches, soul searching and finding themselves going back home. But despite of that clingy storyline the film Crazy, Stupid, Love shares a journey of struggles, loving one self and becoming somewhat a better person. The film is now showing (beginning August 17) in all cinemas nationwide and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
Most of the movie goers can actually relate to the character of Cal Weaver played by Carell who is doing everything to make his family happy by providing them what they want. Sadly, that’s the only thing he can provide to them without thinking what they really need especially his wife Emily (Moore) who misses the Cal she fell in love with. Everything became a mess for Cal when his wife confesses that she had an extramarital affair with David Lindhagen (Bacon) and wanted a divorce. Devastated with what was revealed to him, Cal wasted his time hanging in a bar where Jacob Palmer (Gosling) hangs out with different girls. Jacob offers help to Cal and promise to change him and become a better man that every girl will go gaga on him. But despite of the so many girls he met and hangs out with Cal keeps on coming back to Emily hoping to bring him back to her life, while Jacob met a girl named Hannah (Stone) who totally change the game. This was the journey of the two “hopeless romantic” guys who are absolutely victims of Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Like what I said, the storyline was simple and clingy but the way it was executed was very good. Every movie goers can actually see themselves in every character. They can be like Cal who regrets things in his life and wanting to change everything, Jacob who was surrounded with everything he wants but he haven’t seen what he really needs, Emily who is in confuse of whether she will holds on or not, Hannah who is now on a relationship but doesn’t know if its right or she should be packing her things and leave, and others in the story that has their stories that everyone can see themselves. It is a feel good romance comedy film that doesn’t need to much brain just to understand it, but a heart to enjoy every twist and turns of the story. I did enjoy the film the same thing I did with Valentine’s Day and the rest of the “kilig” chic flicks like this. So I guest everyone will enjoy seeing it no matter if you’re in a relationship right now or not.
