Founded by love and patience, Marites Apiado-Ang and her husband Michael Chan-Ang celebrates the first anniversary of King Chef Fine Dining Restaurant last June 29 for those who wanted to experience the comfort and taste of authentic Cantonese Cuisine. It is located at the 987-989 Banawe Street in Quezon City beside Starbucks and just a block away from their first restaurant – Cantonese Soup Kitchen. King Chef is a 2 storey restaurant that can accommodate up to 240 guests and offers a “celebrating” ambiance perfect for all occasions where families gather together for a delicious feast.
With staffs that welcome every guest with a smile it brings a comforting experience to everyone as they savor delicious and unforgettable dishes that King Chef Fine Dining Restaurant offers. I tried some of their dishes that are affordable and good for three-four persons per serving.
This platter is a combination of sliced century eggs, chopped roasted duck and soy chicken, California Maki, asado pork and jellyfish. It is one of the appetizers served in King Chef that good for five persons.
I love the presentation and of course the tasty aroma that the tea leaves blending to the sweet smell of steamed shrimp. You can actually taste the garlic and pepper that brings out the distinct spicy taste of the shrimp.
In King Chef you can actually see the sliced ham, egg and green peas that make this fried rice appetizing. I enjoy eating Yang Chow Fried Rice especially if there’s a bit of meat in it that is already perfect for me without any dimsum.
The crispiness of the fish blends perfectly with the sweet sour taste of mango sauce. The fish might be crispy outside but inside remains moist and tender.
Juicy pork meat prepared in sweet soy based sauce with kangkong. This dish reminds me of Pata Tim minus other ingredients.
Served with whole crab on it and a very meaty one. The noodles absorb the delicious crab flavor that is very deliciously comforting.
My favorite dish in King Chef, it is huge steamed dumpling that has ground chicken and vegetables inside and presented in sweet salty soy based sauce with broccoli. This is a perfect dish that has everything on it that will make me coming back to King Chef.
This desert neutralizes my taste buds with that ginger – lemon grass taste with a mild sweet jelly mixed in fruits and crashed ice. This is a kind of dessert that really takes away that “umay” after soy based soup left.
King Chef Fine Dining Restaurant is a product of love between Michael and Maritess and the friendship between them and their staff to make the place and food comforting. The restaurant is a perfect place for families who wanted to celebrate special occasions or just a weekend bonding with a delicious meal that they will share together.
