Universal Pictures brings another funny yet heartwarming comedy film directed by Paul Peig entitled Bridesmaids. This movie locally distributed here in the Philippines by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corporation stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne. The movie is currently showing in all cinemas nationwide since last July 20, 2011.
The film follows the healing journey of Annie (Wiig), who is the maid of honor of Lillian’s (Rudolph) wedding. Coming from a heart break, she ends up having an unsure relationship with a self-absorbed guy named Ted (Jon Hamm). For Annie, it is hard for her to see her best friend moving away and building her own family but still she supporter her. But thing get more complicated when Helen (Bryne), also a bridesmaid, comes in the picture and started dominating all the wedding plans including the role of being the best friend of Lillian that heats up Annie.
The storyline of Bridesmaids is very simple it is about friendship and finding love. But what’s good in a movie is that it shows some points of what really happen in most of wedding scenes that sometimes breaks and makes relationship among best friends who wanted to outshine each other but in the end realization follows. It’s a comedy movie that doesn’t need a critical review, all you just need is to enjoy the satire and the crazy things Annie do in the movie which it will really amazed all the viewers. There were some scenes that are not fit for minors so if you will be bringing your teens (I am referring to the parents) be sure to supervise them properly, but the whole movie is worth watching especially those who wanted to have a good laugh and fall in love in some part of the movie.
The movie also stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy, and Chris O’Dowd.
