In a busy and fast phase way of living in Metro Manila, it is very important to us to have that most coveted time out for ourselves. But in my case it is very hard to decide in terms of going out of town versus the budget and convenience. I may have more fun if I go out of town but I always keep in mind is the time and how much it will cost me. Let’s be honest we may want long vacations, but in reality not all of us will have that luxury.
Last week, I had the opportunity to have that time out I needed with friends in Gran Prix Hotel – Manila. The hotel was cozy and has affordable rates including the Filipino-oriental fusion dishes they offer in their Namayan Restaurant. But one thing that concerns me a lot for a person like me that is not good with directions, it is hard to locate Gran Prix Hotel – Manila in the streets of Ermita especially that their billboard and signage is not that noticeable both in riding or by walking along the Mabini Street. They should place signage and standees on a prominent area and well lighted so that possible guest can easily see it.
Going inside the hotel, the feeling is that it is somewhat a minimalist five star hotel, taking away the usual idea of motorist hotel (motel) which an overnight stay is the same with the rate of Gran Prix. But this time it is more comfortable and far from the stigma that others think about motels.
Gran Prix Hotel Manila offers rooms with the rates ranging from P799 – P2, 500:
Easy Bed – With the rate of P799, a person can now stay overnight at Gran Prix Hotel Manila in a single fully air conditioned room, with TV and phone. Guests who will check in at the Easy Bed will be sharing a common rest room that has bigger space of shower area and toilet. There will be a separate common lavatory for male and female guests.
Superior Room – A room intended for 1-2 guest to share a king size bed rates P1, 500 for over night stay. It is a fully air-conditioned room that has TV and rest room.
Deluxe Room – A bigger type of Easy Bed Room that can accommodate a single guest (P1, 999/overnight) and couple (P2,200/overnight). For twin occupancy, there will be two beds inside a fully air-conditioned unit, with TV and washroom.
Suite Room – fully recommended room for couples with a queen size bed to share in a fully air conditioned room, with TV and shower and now has a safe box for those who will be leaving their valuable things when they go outside. The unit rate is P2, 599/overnight.
Family Room – For family of four members, Gran Prix Hotel in Manila offers an affordable rate of P2, 500 that includes a queen size bed for parents and double deck bed for their two children. Like other the room is fully air conditioned, has TV and washroom. It is also recommendable for a barkada of four who visits Manila and wanting to explore Intramuros, Luneta and nearby tourist spots.
All rooms rates are inclusive of daily breakfast, while children 12 years old and below are free of charge when sharing rooms with parents, maximum of two children in a room. All hallways and rooms can use wireless internet connection, guests must only acquire the password/wep key at the reception area. Check in time is around 12pm and check out is by 2pm the following day. One thing I like in Gran Prix is that almost all doors in their comfort rooms has wheelchair ramps for guests who physically challenge which is very rare in other hotels.
Each room uses electronic key card entry system which is uniquely programmed per room to avoid access from unwanted guests. Also with surveillance cameras in all corners and hallways, Gran Prix Hotel ensures 24 hour security as we have that good night and worry free sleep or travel in the morning.
Lastly, aside from the affordable rates and security that they offer, they also ensure the cozy ambiance giving you a feel that you are outside Metro Manila. Paintings and the way it was styled along with the interior designing of rooms and the Namayan restaurant, it gives more comfy and relaxing feel to all the guests of Gran Prix Hotel in Manila.
Speaking of Namayan, the restaurant located at the 7th floor of Gran Prix Hotel in Manila they serve breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners and also cocktails and liquors for those who wanted to unwind at night with friends. They also have activities on Wednesday (Bikini Night Competition), Thursday (Jazz Night) and Friday (Acoustic Night).
It is also important to me in terms of restaurant is the ambiance. It adds up the to the appetite of the diners. For Namayan, being rooted to Filipino culture connected to the days of the datus they atmosphere of the restaurant is majestic yet simple datu like dining area with lights and clay pots on the walls.
So check out Gran Prix Hotel – Manila located at the A. Mabini Street in Ermita, Manila and have that break you always wanted to have in a very affordable and convenient way.
