20th Century Fox brings another science fiction film which is a reboot or prequel of the 1968 film Planet of the Apes. Rise of the Planet of the Apes which will be showing in all cinemas worldwide beginning August 5 stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo and Andy Serkis. It was directed by Rupert Wyatt.
The movie is a reality-based cautionary tale that blends science fiction and science-fact when a single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other. Set in present-day San Francisco, Will (Franco) has long been working on a cure that is being tested on apes when his test subject named Caesar (Serkis) starts exhibiting intelligence equal to humans. Caesar starts to evolve rapidly, and the scientist takes him home to live with him and protects Caesar from cruel scientists. A revolution then starts that threatens mankind’s existence and the beginning of a new race.
WETA Digital is the production group behind the visual effects of the film which also did Avatar, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and District 9. The visual effects for “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” were created in their headquarters in Wellington, New Zealand.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes will be showing in all cinemas beginning August 5 and it is distributed by 20th Century Fox.
