SM Cinema partners with Globe Telecom in giving their loyal movie goers a more fun and hassle free movie watching experience through their SM Cinemobile, mobile ticketing system now with Globe GCash as the newest payment option aside from credit cards. The said partnership was spearheaded by Paolo Baltao, President of G-Xchange, Inc. and Ed Tejerero, Senior Vice President of SM Cinema.
With the new payment option movie goers who don’t have credit cards or cautious of using it, can still purchase movie tickets through SM Cinemobile website (www.smcinema.com) and pay via GCASH. The purchase process is still the same all the need this time is to have GCASH account and reply their MPIN to the text notification sent by SM Cinema to complete their transaction. After that they will get the BCode via SMS and can now scan it through the SM Cinemobile eTicket Booth to get tickets and avail promos (if available). This feature is available in all cinemas of SM, in regular format, Digital Cinema, IMAX and Director’s Club in SM Moa.
For the avid fans of blockbuster movies like Thor, Harry Potter, X-Men, and others can now buy tickets online in advance and cutting the long and stressful lines that we always hate to experience. Right now, the GCash payment on SM Cinemobile can now be used in 226 cinemas on 39 SM malls nationwide.
Globe Telecom is now giving away free GCash Cards to all subscribers who will buy SM Cinema tickets online using the GCash payment option starting on May 1-June 30, 2011. GCash Cards can now be customized in terms of colors, designs and pictures depending on the decision of the owner. It’s same with ATM card linked to a mobile wallet in the country and can now withdraw cash via Bachnet, Megalink and ExpressNet ATMs nationwide.
To create a GCash account, Globe and TM subscribers should register by going to the SIM Services (Sim Applications for iPhone users) on your mobile phone. Go to MyFavorites, click Add Favorites and then Money, and then click on GCash. Mobile phone will send an SMS Request (free of charge) to access the GCash menu. From their subscribers can now register his or her account and provide MPIN that he or she will be using in all his/her transactions like payment on SM Cinemobile tickets, shopping, gaming, and payment online.
