20th Century Fox brings back Natalie Portman in her one of the most daring film that is currently showing in the United States and next year here in the Philippines. Portman will be staring in a Fox Searchlight movie entitled Black Swan. The psychological thriller is directed by Darren Aronofsky.
Black Swan follows Nina (Portman) in her quest to be the best ballerina in the New York Ballet Company. With her friend Lily (Mila Kunis), who were cast to do the Swan Lake, Nina sees the opportunity of fulfilling her dreams and continuing the legacy of her mother. Nina replaced New York’s prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Winona Ryder), which is the decision of Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), the director of Swan Lake. Not contended with her role as innocent White Swan, Nina craves for more limelight and hoping to get the Black Swan role, which was assigned to Lily. Nina will do anything she wanted even it brings out the dark side on her.
The film receives nominations from the 67th Venice International Film Festival, 20th Gotham Independent Film Awards, 25th Independent Spirit Awards, and London Film Festival, 15th Sattelite Awards.
The Black Swan is one of the movies that 20th Century Fox will be airing in 2011. Among the movies to expect are; Gulliver’s Travels (Joe Black), 127 Hours (James Franco), Never Let Me Go (Andrew Garfield), Monte Carlo (Selena Gomez), Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (Martin Lawrence and Brandon Jackson), Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules, What’s Your Number? (Chris Evans and Anna Faris), X-Men: First Class, The Sitter (Jonah Hill and Sam Rockwell), Caesar: Rise of the Apes, Mr. Popper’s Penguins (Jim Carrey), Love and Other Drugs (Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway) and Rio.
