President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III or also known as PNoy officially releases his presidential portrait which we will be seeing in all government offices beginning today July 1, a day after his inauguration last June 30 at the Quirino Grandstand 12 pm with his Vice President Jejomar Binay.
In his portrait, PNoy expresses firmness in his administration with a crossed armed pose but a charismatic person through his smiling facial expression. PNoy is wearing a coat and a yellow tie which is the color of his mother the late former President Corazon Aquino and also the color of Liberal Party, his political group.
Aquino emphasizes in his Inaugural Speech yesterday that he will be the servant and the Filipino will be his boss, following the needs of his country man. He will be focusing on the needs of education, infrastructures, and transparency in his government, giving the people the venue to see all the transactions for feedback. He will be following the footsteps of his parents, Cory and Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. both democratic icons in the Philippine politics during the times of Martial Law under the late former President Ferdinand Marcos.
Aquino also included on his speech even the simplest complain of a common Filipino and that is the use of sirens or “Wang-Wang” of the government officials in order to get away with the traffic in the streets. People applauded on this topic except for Binay who says it is essential for emergencies for government officials particularly the mayors, where Binay was a former Mayor in Makati. The mother of PNoy, Cory was one of those who implemented this policy during her administration.
Aquino begins his 6-year term as President as of June 30, with all eyes monitoring all the steps and policies he will be implementing for the country including the transaction done by his cabinet members and also the life of her sister Kris Aquino.
