The third installment of the Toy Story series produced and distributed by Pixar Entertainment and Walt Disney Pictures reaches P55.9 Million in its 4th day screening in the Philippines. The good news was announced by Victor R. Cabrera, Managing Director of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures here in the Philippines.
Toy Story 3 debut in cinemas nationwide last June 17, where it already earns P20.2 Million on June 19 and additional P22 Million on June 20 where it became a major contributor to the total earnings of the animated film within four days.
The film which features the voices of Tom Hanks (Woody) and Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) beats the 5-day earnings of the 2009’s UP with P46-Million. Here is the breakdown of the earnings of Toy Story 3 in major cinemas nationwide; SM Mall of Asia (P5.12-M), SM North EDSA (P3.96-M), Trinoma (P3.67-M), Power Plant (P2.61-M), SM Megamall (P1.90-M), Greenbelt 3 (P1.86-M), Glorietta 4 (P1.80-M), Shangri-la (P1.69-M), Eastwood (P1.48-M), Alabang Town Center (P1.26-M), Robinsons Ermita (P1.209-M), Gateway (P1.205-M), Festival (P1.152-M), SM Marikina (P1.151-M), Market! Market! (P1.09-M), Robinsons Galleria (P1.05-M), Sta. Lucia East (P 953,966), SM San Lazaro (P 940,062), SM Fairview (P 934,374) and SM Cebu (P 890,064).
While in the US, Toy Story 3 earns $109 Million on its opening day, second to Walt Disney’s Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland that earned $116.1 Million under the film that 3D category. While on the animated film category Toy Story 3 ranks 2nd on 2007’s Shrek the Third’s $121.6 Million.
Toy Story 3 is now showing in all IMAX 3D and Digital 3D cinemas, and also on cinemas on regular format.
