June 17, Manila – Kraft Foods Philippines maker of Eden cheese with the Magsaysay Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) formally announce to the supporters and media men the news that the Philippines received a Guinness World Record for having the most number of dishes made of cheese defeating India’s record last 2007. India created 4,668 dishes while the Philippines last December 14, 2009 recorded 5,845 cheese-infused dishes in Araneta Coliseum.
With the success and recognition that Kraft Foods Philippines and MIHCA brought to the country, last June 17, they unveiled the marker that contains the certificate given by Guinness World Record which will be placing in the area where the record breaking activity happened.
Alex Dan Tacderas, Category Manager for Cheese and Spoonables of Kraft Foods Philippines shares the inspiring story and the learning they had during the said project including the friendship they gained with the supporters who submitted their recipes in the YUMM website and with MIHCA. “What MIHCA and Kraft Foods has done gave great Filipino pride that’s why we wanted to commemorate this culinary milestone with our fellow Filipinos,” Tacderas affirmed. Tacderas sees in the inspiration among the Filipinos who faced the disaster brought by Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng and they struggled to stand up and continue fighting for their lives and the things that was left for them as they take part of the campaign created by Kraft Foods Philippines.
As part of growing partnership between Kraft Foods Philippines and MIHCA, they will be opening Café 5845 at the SM Mall of Asia, where the café will be serving the 5,845 cheese infused dishes that was served last December 14 in Araneta. For more details you may visit http://sarapngbuhay.com.
