IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures formally announced that most anticipated original sci-fi movie directed and written by Christopher Nolan with lead star Leonardo DiCarpio – Inception. This film will be shown in all IMAX theaters beginning July 15.
Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Night grossed more than $65 Million in IMAX theaters alone, IMAX Corporation sees bigger opportunity that Inception will bring them aside from the beautifully executed visual effects is the star studded movie which included artist from box office movies in last few years; Ellen Page (Juno), Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose), Joseph Gordon Levitt (500 Days of Summer), Tom Hardy (RocknRolla), Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins), Tom Berenger and Michael Caine.
“Chris Nolan and IMAX have proven to be ideally suited to each other, and we’re very excited to bring them back together again for ‘Inception,'” said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. Picture’s president of domestic distribution. Fellman is confident of what the two giants of the new generation of movie industry (Nolan and IMAX) will bring to the movie and its box office dream. “With the rapidly growing IMAX network, our IMAX audience base for this release will be significantly larger than it was for ‘The Dark Knight,’ which will add to the film’s event status.” Fellman added.
At the same time IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond is certain with Nolan’s Inception that will be a big hit in the market. “Chris Nolan’s unique vision combined with the talents of Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the cast creates the kind of cinematic event that resonates very well with IMAX moviegoers.” Gelfond affirms. While Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment adds that he is excited on the collaborations of artists in the film and how will it brings good impact to the story which moviegoers will surely enjoy watching it. Inception will be shown in all IMAX theaters nationwide beginning July 15. The film is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
