>From a long running TV series in HBO, Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda captures the lives of every women and men with the adventure, romance and drama in Sex and the City. And almost 10 years in television the four gorgeous ladies takes the silver screen in 2008 with the Sex and the City the movie, but it doesn’t stop there now that Warner Bros Pictures brings back Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda with a biggest adventure of their lives that will test their friendship and family lives in the warm dessert of Dubai. The film is directed by Michael Patrick King and starred by Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes).
“When the movie opened, I would see lines of women and they were all dressed up and going to a party. I thought to myself, ‘I want the sequel to be the continuation of the party. I want it to be the party.” King shares his concept on how he wanted the film should be where all the Sex in the City fans is attached with the fun and glam of the TV series and they wanted to see it in the big screen mixing the fun with the personal drama of the characters along with their love stories and friendships.
“The people that are warm and excited about Miranda’s life or Charlotte or Samantha or Carrie—it’s remarkable. Those who have committed their time and money and heart—that will never happen again in my life and I’m cognizant of it all the time.”, Parkers shares her working experience with the three girls where she works from the TV series to the big screen. “I feel this enormous love towards these characters and this brand and a gratefulness that it’s happening for them, and these four characters still live on and we get to see them grow and change.” King confesses the fun he had seeing the girls portray the roles along with the emotions he wanted to see from them, preserving the personality they had shown in the TV series that the viewers love. “I think with four women characters, you have a pretty wide range of types of choices, and you have to be very, very diligent about where you think the women might be, because I think, the success of it all, is that it has dealt with what people are dealing with in their own lives. Maybe not in the same glamorous way, but the emotions are the same. It’s about moving forward, and the fun thing about writing these characters, is that I’m not afraid to write the choices they make that move them in a different direction, because that’s what happens in life all of the time.” King added.
Sex and the City 2 also includes stars Chris Noth, John Corbett, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Lynn Cohen, and Jason Lewis with special participation of Mariah Carey, Liza Minnelli, Miley Cyrus and Penélope Cruz. The romance comedy film will be showing in all theaters nationwide beginning May 27.
