>Last January 6, 2010, Jeff Canoy of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol World reports the discrimination charges filed by Marites Alcantara the mother of John Arvin, a special child that has Global Developmental Delay condition but as Cebu Pacific mention in their manual that they don’t allow two mentally ill passenger in one flight which they demand Marites and her son to deplane. And it was a discrimination as stated by Marites where her son is not mentally ill. Watch the full video of Jeff Canoy’s interview here.
Blogger’s Point of View
Cebu Pacific offers good discounts for its clients but as the news reaches me yes they offer good discounts until now but they don’t offer humane treatment for special child. Mentally ill or not it should be treated fairly I don’t know the policy that any airlines had but I don’t get the point that why need to limit the numbers of people who are mentally ill inside the plain if they have guardians with them? Same with special child and other cases they are not wild animals who can do harm to others, so why have this kind of policy that leads to discrimination. I hope this kind of case would be an eye opener that no one has the right to discriminate others because of their incapabilities.
