Pictures can tell lot of stories, what’s more with film that can show the emotions, the faces and the life of each character in the story. Film reflect lives and struggles. With Nokia we celebrate Pangea Day as we will witness 24 films within 4 hours to be shown globally on May 10, 2008, in locations in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro and will be linked via satellite for a live program of powerful films, live music, and visionary speakers. The entire program will be broadcast – in seven languages – to millions of people worldwide through the internet, television, and mobile phones. For Filipinos we can watch the event of Pangea Day through their website.
What Pangea Day?
“In a world where people are often divided by borders, difference, and conflict, it’s easy to lose sight of what we all have in common. Pangea Day seeks to overcome that — to help people see themselves in others — through the power of film.
It will be a chance for people around the globe to see the world through someone else’s eyes. We’re calling it the world’s first global campfire: A day when we share stories made by the world for the world.
Movies alone can’t change the world. But the people who watch them can.”

But the main idea of Pangea Day is let the people unite by means of films and music, where through this craft people can present their ideas not only for themselves for for all. For Pangea Day we will learn each others story of great love, powerful friendship and the combat of fears. To be one again, without border, without division as one continent just like before in Pangea.
